August 30 Sunday - We, along with the Warner Center Kiwanis Club line Ventura Blvd with American flags for National Patriotic Holidays. This time they are going up to honor Labor Day, and in honor and memory of those who lost their lives in the attack on the Twin Towers in New York on 9/11/2001
September 13 - Division Installation at the West Hills Hilton. More details as we obtain them
September 20 - we join in to help the Warner Center Kiwanis at their Annual Kiwanis Equestrian Competition for Special Athletes at Hansen Dam. We get there early in the morning and serv pancakes for the riders their families and coaches (no the equine), and the volunteers...The we later pass out popcycles later in the day! The event is fun and watching the competition is a blast!
Sept 24 Is it a Year already??? Yep! Surprise! It will be an enjoyable evening for all as we say THANKS to Patty and her officers and Board and Welcome to Dennis and his officers and Board.....More details later...to be held at the McManus' beautiful home!!!
October 24 Saturday at the Races! The San Fernando Valley Kiwanis Club is sponsoring this as a fund raising activity for their new club. They will have a private party area in the track midfield! $49 includes: Admission, Parking, Program,an All-You-Can-Eat Barbeque Buffet, soft drinks and water. If members of our club go and bring friends, we keep $10 per ticket.
December 8 Tuesday Night. We have dinner, and visit, with the residents of the Woodland Park Retirement Home. We have a great time and the folks love the visits! Additionally Chair Ron has again arranged entertainment-wife Joy's Blue Grass band...
December 12 Saturday. We go to the Rose Bowl facility in Pasadena and cook and serve lunch to all they Key Clubbers from around the state who work on the floats! Join us! These kids work hard during their winter break and love to see us!
December also includes Holiday Dinner and gifts for the boys of Neimeyer Cottage, Pacific Lodge Boys Home... April and May - Pancake Breakfast for the participants at the 4 local Relays for Life! All these folks give their weekend to help raise money and awareness of the fight against Cancer and the service provided by the American Cancer Society really appreciate the wonderful hot breakfast we serve for them. The small cost of the breakfast we serve saves money for each local relay so more money can go to the cause!
